Dolphins Drown Jaguars
August 16, 2007

Chad Pennington   The Miami Dolphins win the coin toss and start the game with Chad Pennington at the helm. The Dolphins were not able to get things going and had to punt after their first series. Ricky Williams provides the punch on the second drive and delivers a Miami Dolphins offensive touchdown. Ricky’s running touchdown made the score 7-0 midway through the first quarter. Jacksonville attempted to answer the score of Miami but the Dolphins defense had other plans and stuffed the Jaguars forcing a punt. Chad Pennington drove Miami deep into Jacksonville territory but couldn’t capitalize on the drive and Dan Carpenter came in to kick a thirty one yard field goal to make the score 10-0 early in the second quarter. The Miami Dolphins defense stopped a seventeen play drive by the Jaguars offense with a goal line stand late in the second quarter.

Chad Henne entered the game midway through the second quarter. Chad Henne directed the two minute offense and put Miami in position to score. Dan Carpenter comes in with time running out and kicks a forty seven yard field goal to make the score 13-0 and end the first half. Chad Henne also came out to start the second half after the Jaguars first possession of the third quarter. The Miami Dolphins defense intercepts a Jacksonville deep pass to take possession early in the third quarter. Another Dolphins drive stalls in Jacksonville territory and Dan Carpenter came in to kick a forty four yard field goal and make the score 16-0 very late in the third quarter. Chad Henne surprisingly starts the fourth quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dan Carpenter came in again midway through the fourth quarter to kick another field goal making the score 19-0.

The Miami offense is playing well and the defense came to play tonight. I’m still not making any crazy predictions but this team will be much better than last year’s 1-15 team. I’m thinking maybe we will be able to reach 500 this year or very close to that mark. Jacksonville drives down the field midway through the fourth quarter to erase the goose egg on the score board to make the score 19-7. Jacksonville with the ball running the two minute offense driving down the field into the red zone with a little over half a minute to try and put some more points on the board. The Jaguars strike with eighteen seconds left in the game to make the score 19-14. The score would lead you to believe this game was a lot closer than it really was because the Dolphins controlled every aspect of the game. I’m looking forward to being out at next weeks game against the Chiefs.
